The USS Batfish Website was launched in September of 1998.  It started out as just some pictures and some text and over the years has expanded to what you see today.  But this isn't where it stops.  The next major improvements will be on the virtual tour providing more photos and documentation...and many "how does this stuff work" articles.  A video documentary/tour is being planned and a host of other things to make this website the best submarine site on the internet.

But as we all know...cool stuff takes money for things like software to make the cool stuff, research needs to document the cool stuff...which is going to require a dedicated server to host all the cool stuff.  Putting this all together has been a tremendous joy, challenge and learning experience.  If you have enjoyed your visit to this site...and have benefited from it, I would ask you to help me expand it to be more enjoyable and more beneficial.

  The most pressing needs include:
  • Software for enhancing your website experience and for creating a video documentary and tour.
  • Future plans for the website are going to require a dedicated server so I can host all the photos and video to give you the best viewing experience I can
  • In a dual role of webmaster and Batfish Historian, I need access to information at the National Archives, which requires hiring a researcher to perform my searches.
  • Annual Domain hosting costs
  • In addition, I'd like to be able to funnel some funds to the volunteers to cover their costs for material and travel expenses.
