The Main attraction of the War Memorial Park is USS
BATFISH. Launched in 1943, her record earned her 9 Battle Stars, 1 Navy Cross, 4 Silver Stars, 10 Bronze Stars and 1 Presidential Unit Citation. The War Memorial Park Museum contains many items related to the USS BATFISH, other
submarines, and World War 2 in general, including battle flags,
photographs, artifacts, models and other interesting items. |

52 submarines were lost during WWII, but they still live on in a thought-provoking memorial at the War Memorial Park.
A series of bronze stands name each ship and its crew. 3505 brave sailors in all!!

Other items found in the park include several types of armament such as 20mm, 40mm, 3-inch
and 5-inch guns and a torpedo. |
