Comments: My father, who died in 1957 when I was 8 years old, served aboard Batfish. I believe he was a member of the Batfish's crew at the conclusion of the war, having served aboard Sterlett as well. His Combat War Patrol pin has two large and one small star.

Comments: I live in Oklahoma and have been aboard the USS Batfish. Thanks for having such websites. My oldest son, when he was a youngester visiting the Batfish, says he can remember a chess board permanently attached to the top of a table. I wonder if that chess board is still there? Thanks! Comments: Hello I served on the USS. BATFISH 310 1944-1945 and was on half of the fifth patrol and the complete sixth and seventh patrol. I would like to say that during the sixth patrol and the sinking of the three Japanese subs, there was a overall excitement in the air that was only surpassed by the feeling we had off of the coast of Japan when we received radio confirmation that the A-bomb was dropped and the war was over!!!!! I really enjoyed your web site and would like to hear from others crew members, you can reach me at my grandsons e-mail address Richard@cyberscope.net.

Comments: Thank you for your efforts in trying to find any old members of the Trigger (SS 237). I feel very privledge to have been part of that crew. When she went down some very fine men were lost as with many other boats. If possible, I would like to contact Capt. Edward L.(Ned) Beach. He was the Ex,Officer on the Trigger. The finest officer I ever served under. Win or lose on this, thank you for your help. At almost 80,I can use all the help I can get. Sincerely--Chuck Short. NOTE: If you are or know someone who served on the USS TRIGGER, please email Chuck Short.

Comments: I got interested in subs in high school by reading Run Silent Run Deep. I just stumbled in here can't remember which link got me here. The interesting thing that I think is funny is that I am the son of a exMarine Engineer, and I am an exMarine Engineer. Subs should be my enemy, but I have the greatest respect for members of the silent service. Signed one greasy snipe. Len

Comments: Congratulations on a great website about the USS Batfish! As a writer, I am particularly grateful for sites like yours, they are great sources of accurate information. When I was writing my WWII novel, The Triumph and the Glory, I relied often upon internet websites for research. Please accept my thanks for a very informative website and keep up the good work!

Comments: Howdy. I served on the USS Groton (SSN 694) from 93-97. We decommed her in Portsmouth, NH with a completion date of 7 NOV 97. I took a trip from Lawton out to Russelville, Arkansas and on the trip back intended to swing up to Muskogee. The brochure I picked up from the highway info office indicated that it the Batfish didn't open till Monday. I missed it by two days. I will be up there to try it again soon. I am a member of Subvets and belong to the Batfish base. Thanks for the great website. Kevin J. Shutt

Comments: Just visited the Batfish web pages and was really impressed. I live in Rogers Ar. and have never had the opportunity to visit the memorial. I was stationed on the Redfish in '65-'66 which is almost identical to the Batfish. What is needed is a sign on the highway directing people to the memorial. Would the state fund any of it. If I ever get over toward Muskogee again I can guarantee you that I will make an extra effort to go to the Memorial. Clinton Davis

Comments: Thanks for your effort in putting together this great Web page. I'm originally from Tulsa (now living in Louisville, KY) and I go back home two-three times a year. Even though I've driven by the BATFISH countless times I've never stopped to really check it out--though I have a passing knowledge of its fame. It IS my favorite WWII "boat." My wife (a Lexington, KY native) and I will be visiting friends in BA and we'll be staying at a bed & breakfast in Muskogee on the 12th through the 15th of Feb. I've already told the Mrs. that Lord permitting we'll be stopping by the BATFISH so I can share another part of OK with her. Hope to see you then!

Comments: I served on the most recent USS Batfish (SSN-681) as Combat Systems Officer from 1991-1994 and was looking for info on where she is, schedule for decommissioning and the like when I found your site on the ring. Its a great site and I hope that someday one of my more computer-inclined shipmates will do the same honor to my boat as was done to this one. I still haven't found anything, but if you have any info on the 681 I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks again and well done!
